I went to the orphanage in the morning only to be told that the students will be in the mosque until 12pm. Waited for the others to come before heading to Pondok to look for food. Unfortunately, we were early and we decided to head to McDonalds instead by taxi. The taxi driver was friendly and he even gave me his number. Might come in handy sometime later.
We met up with Melody who was also there for lunch. Took a group picture before heading back to the orphanage.
We taught the students on body parts including doing the 'head, shoulders, knees and toes' song. The students taught us a traditional game called 'ampar ampar pisang'.
First, Joy and I played with the students.
After that, it is between the four of us to play the game. Always ending up on the losing side. Haha.
After that, we went to the AIESEC office for our first weekly meeting. We share what we like and dislike about the experience so far. Met up with Nene, whom I have not seen since GFS and APC 2014.
Went back home to conclude another day.
Day 8
Woke up to read up the news regarding MH17 back home and it was not a pleasant feeling given the details.
Went to the orphanage and did some revision with the students on what they have learnt thus far. Most of them are good but definitely all of them can improve.
After lunch, Sebastian and I went with Afhdal to get my sim card fixed. After waiting for a while, I finally got my new sim card and have to wait for a while for the sim card to work.
After that it was a welcome party for the the new EPs who have arrived last week including me.
EPs from China
Blanka from Slovakia
Michi and Veerle from the Netherlands
It was not just a welcome party for the new interns. It was also a farewell party for AB, who has been my roommate for the past 8 days and he will be leaving to Malaysia before heading back to India.
After that, dinner at Red Chilli.
Group photo before we headed back.
Till then, have a great day!
